RUSeafarer's Medical Report
The seafarer health report is an official document proving that all personnel working in the maritime sector are fit to perform duties under sea conditions. In Turkey, this report is issued within the framework of regulations determined by the Maritime Undersecretariat, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Health. The report documents the physical and mental fitness of seafarers working in both national and international waters and is one of the fundamental requirements for work permits.
The authority to issue the Seafarer Health Report is not granted to ordinary health institutions, but only to hospitals specially authorized by the General Directorate of Border and Coastal Health (HSSGM) under the Ministry of Health.
Who Must Obtain This Report?
Health fitness in the maritime sector is the responsibility of not only a specific professional group but a very wide range of people who use the sea. The concept of "seafarer" has been broadened within the legal framework to cover almost everyone working on a ship. According to current regulations, the groups required to obtain the report are:
- Candidates who will become seafarers for the first time
- Professional Seafarers
- Maritime Students
- Seafarers with overseas contracts

- Identity card or passport
- Biometric photograph taken within the last six months
- Current seafarer identity card (if available)

- Urinalysis
- LDL Cholesterol
- Triglyceride
Validity Period:
For those under 18 years of age: 1 year
For those over 18 years of age: 2 years
