Born in Ankara in 1973, Dr. Emel Torun completed her high school education at TED Ankara College and entered Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. In 1998, she began her residency training in the Department of Pediatrics at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and became a Specialist in Pediatrics in 2003.
After approximately 10 years of experience in private hospitals, she joined Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics in 2010, first as a Specialist Lecturer and later as an Assistant Professor. In 2015, she passed the associate professorship examination and was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
In 2020, she was appointed as Professor at the same university. She currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine.
