RUInternational Competency Certificate Awarded to Biruni Nuclear Medicine in Cancer Treatment
Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital has achieved a significant international milestone in the field of Nuclear Medicine and targeted cancer therapies. The hospital’s Nuclear Medicine Department has received the Qualified Theranostics Center of Excellence certification for the second time this year under the EARL Theranostics Program conducted by the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM).
With the internationally recognized certificate, it has been confirmed that Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital meets European standards in advanced diagnostic, imaging, and radionuclide therapy applications in the field of theranostics.
Within the scope of the certification, advanced theranostic applications used particularly in prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and personalized targeted cancer treatments came to the forefront.
International Competence in Personalized Cancer Treatment
Prof. Dr. Burçak Yılmaz, Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, stated that the theranostic approach lies at the center of next generation personalized medicine applications in cancer treatment.
Prof. Dr. Yılmaz said, “With our scientific infrastructure, advanced technological equipment, and multidisciplinary approach, we are proud to be among the centers that meet international quality standards in the field of nuclear medicine. We will continue to provide our patients with advanced diagnostic and targeted treatment services.”
It was reported that the international certificate awarded to Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital is valid until the first quarter of 2027 and that it is among a limited number of centers worldwide.
