International Live Surgery Meeting with Global Participation Held at Biruni
At the meeting organized in collaboration between Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and the International Chip Summit (ICS), next generation methods for the treatment of fully blocked coronary arteries were discussed. Cardiologists from China, Italy, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Moldova, and Turkey came together in Istanbul to share their experiences.

During the program, techniques for reopening completely blocked arteries, referred to as chronic total occlusion (CTO), were presented both theoretically and through hands on practice. Live cases performed in the angiography laboratory were broadcast simultaneously, and the challenges encountered during the procedures were evaluated in real time.
Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Cardiology Specialist Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Koçaş stated that organizing such training programs in Türkiye is an important development and noted that knowledge and experience were shared with specialists from different countries.

Prof. Dr. Koçaş emphasized that the meeting stood out not only for its theoretical training but also for its live procedural applications, stating that physicians had the opportunity to both learn current information and observe procedures directly.
Koçaş also noted that thanks to advancing technologies, completely blocked arteries that were previously difficult to treat can now be reopened, and that interventional methods in this field can serve as an alternative to surgery.
The two day program offers participants a comprehensive training experience both theoretically and practically.
